Choose fewer screens.
Tell a more complete story.
A screenshot video needs a sequence, not a slideshow of every menu. Use this guide to choose a result, a useful action and enough context to connect them.
For a screenshot-based app promo, choose a visible outcome, a screen that explains the mechanism and a closing product identity. Arrange them around one benefit, keep each important image complete and avoid implying interactions that the stills cannot prove.
Start with the strongest visible result
For a meal app, that might be the complete meal photo beside a nutrition summary; for a planner, the arranged week; for a photo app, the organized collection. Show a result that is genuinely present in the source material. Do not crop away half of the object that explains the feature.
Keep context without preserving clutter
A little interface context helps establish that this is a real app. System status bars, keyboards, permissions, billing sheets and private account details usually do not. Prepare clean screenshots before adding them, then review every selected image and the proposed framing.
Use contrast in information, not random decoration
A result, a detail and a summary provide useful visual variety. Use colors drawn from the product to connect the scenes. A generated lifestyle shot can support a story, but should not replace the screen that proves the feature exists.
Review the sequence as a first-time viewer
Ask whether someone unfamiliar with the product can explain the benefit after one viewing. Slow down dense screens, shorten the text and remove redundant pages. LaunchCut accepts up to 15 screenshots, but filling every slot is not a requirement.
A storyboard to adapt
| Time / position | Job | Copy / visual | Evidence / question |
|---|---|---|---|
| Opening | The outcome | A complete result or key product image | Why should someone care? |
| Middle | The mechanism | Input, chosen option or feature detail | What does the app help them do? |
| Proof | The useful state | Summary, saved item or completed plan | What has actually changed? |
| Close | The next step | Product identity and invitation | Where can the viewer try it? |
Questions before you start
Do I need fifteen screenshots?
No. One to fifteen images are supported. A smaller sequence can be clearer when all screens support the same benefit.
Can I mix recordings and screenshots in one upload?
The current source picker uses either a recording or a screenshot set for a creation. Choose the source that best proves the feature.
